| A Stone With
My Name Running Time: 8:18 |
Originally written around 1977-78, the inspration for this song comes from the book of Revelation (2:17) ... "And I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written ... ". In three movements.
| Great High Priest Running Time: 5:25 |
The Great High Priest is beautifully
explained in the letter to the Hebrews
(Ch 7-8), from whence this song was birthed. |
|||||||||
|
|
Fathers House Running Time: 7:33 |
This was inspired from Psalm
8, also originally composed around 1978-79.
In three movements. Julie again (see Prodigal
Son notes) on pianos and hammond. |
||||||||
| High Praises Running Time: 3:50 |
High Praises
is birthed from Psalms 148 and
149. Janie and Pam provide depth with their
backing vocals. |

|
Always With You Running Time: 5:19 |
Inspired from John
14:27 and the last verse of the Gospel
of Matthew ... "I am with you always, even unto the
end of the age". This song was written as an encouragement
for someone who was going through tough times. |
||||||||
| Healing Waters Running Time: 5:35 |
This song was inspired by Heb 10:22, with reference to the concept of
Ezekiel 47:1-12, which talks about
the vision of the healing waters flowing from the alter,
which for us today is the Cross of Christ. See also John
19:34. |

| Dance Before
The Lord Running Time: 4:49 |
When
David brought the ark of the covenant back to Jerusalem ...
he danced mightily before the Lord. See 2 Samuel 6:14-15
and Psalm 150:4. |
|||||||||
| For the Stringed Instruments Running Time: 2:15 |
Many of the psalms have titles, or
subtitles ... of these, a number of them are 'For the
Stringed Instruments'. This is purely an instrumental piece,
with stringed instruments. My good friend Norm plays
the violin solo. |
|||||||||
| Voice on the Hill Running Time: 2:40 |
Voice on the Hill speaks of the Cross of Christ. The opening pan flute, which came inspirationally only the night before recording commenced, depicts the desolation after Christ died - like the sound of an eagle flying over the desert through the silent heavens.

|
Ministry Of Angels Running Time: 4:40 |
This is a song in two movements,
the first of which is instrumental, depicting the movement of angelic
beings in the heavenlies. The second refers to their continual praise.
Written around 1998, and that's Pam breaking out in the last chorus. |
||||||||
| Prayers of the Saints Running Time: 6:14 |
Prayers of the Saints is inspired from Revelation 5:8 and 8:3-4. In two movements, also written around 1998. Actually, this song and Ministry of Angels were composed simultaneously. Julie again on keys in this one.

|
For the Flutes Running Time: 1:15 |
Similar to the Stringed Instruments
(track 8), there are several psalms
which are specifically written 'For the Flutes'. |
||||||||
| Bless The Little
Ones Running Time: 3:24 |
This song was written not
long after the birth of my firstborn, in late 1986. Jesus said "Let the little children come to me ... for of such is the Kingdom of Heaven" (Matt 19:14). |
|||||||||
| Who Does Daddy Love Running Time: 2:36 |
A song based
around a saying I'd say to my own children
when they were little. It probably now sounds somewhat
twee, given that they're now grown up, but what the hey
... and that's my daughter singing BVs. |
|||||||||
| As It Is
Written Running Time: 5:19 |
Another
song from the late seventies (1977) ...
this song debuted one sunday night in 1977-78 at
the local church at that time (Mitcham Baptist). The
intro movement was added only recently, Inspired from
Revelation 1:4-7. |
|||||||||
| But For the Grace of God Running Time: 2:31 |
This is something of testimony
song, just me and the twelve string, no other accompaniment, sounds
a bit James Taylor-esque. And just for something different I chose
to use fingers for this one rather than a pick. |
|||||||||
| Always
With You (Instrumental) Running Time: 5:19 |
An instrumental version of track
5. On the album I've dedicated this track to my father, because he is
not a believer, in the hope that God will minister to him through the music. This track was also played at my mother's funeral (Nov 2009), it was a beautiful thing. |
